Job summary

Relay Commerce is seeking a Senior JavaScript Engineer to help design and evolve server-side TypeScript services powering replenishment, cross-sell, and subscription offers for Shopify stores.

You will own features end-to-end, collaborate with AI-assisted tooling, and contribute to React front-ends as part of a fully remote, multi-disciplinary team. This role emphasizes reliability, observability, and performance, with opportunities to influence product direction.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of senior-level JavaScript/TypeScript experience across multiple companies.
• Proven API design experience for RESTful services and third-party integrations.
• Expertise in TypeScript with SOLID principles and TDD.
• Strong SQL and MySQL/Relational DB design and performance tuning.
• Proficiency with React and building front-end components.
• Experience with AWS cloud-native services.
• Desirable: experience with predictive algorithms.
• Desirable: Shopify platform knowledge.
• Desirable: SRE practices and observability tools (DataDog).

Responsibilities

• Deliver modern software in a fast-paced, AI-enabled environment for high-volume subscriptions.
• Design and deliver serverless TypeScript services on AWS Lambda with Prisma/MySQL.
• Contribute to React front-ends and integrate with Shopify/Klaviyo ecosystems.
• Own features end-to-end from concept to production.
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical decisions.
• Assist Customer Success during live production support.
• Add AI agent capabilities and improve tooling for LLM integration.
• Contribute to processes, guidelines, and documentation in a remote org.
