Job summary

Cowboy Space Corp. in San Carlos, CA is seeking a senior turbopump engineer who owns turbopump hardware from concept to flight. You will define architecture, perform analyses, and lead a team of Level I-III engineers to deliver flight-worthy hardware.

You will collaborate with machinists, review designs, and drive test campaigns in a fast-moving propulsion program, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and shape the future of space-based energy systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related field.
• Strong turbomachinery fundamentals and life prediction know-how.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD with GD&T, manufacturability mindset.
• Experience taking hardware from design through build and test.
• U.S. citizenship or eligible to work in the U.S. per ITAR rules.

Responsibilities

• Own turbopump hardware definition, interfaces, and verification plan.
• Lead design from concept through hot fire and flight.
• Integrate hydro, aero, rotordynamics, and thermal constraints.
• Perform analysis, write verification arguments, and oversee testing.
• Collaborate with machinists to improve producibility; mentor junior engineers.
• Review Level I-III work and raise design quality standards.
