Job summary

Beehive Industries is seeking an experienced engineer to design and analyze turbomachinery components, using parametric models and 3D scans for reverse engineering. You will ensure GD&T compliance, maintain configurations, and collaborate across disciplines in a fast-paced startup atmosphere. The role begins as an individual contributor with growth toward leadership, and requires a U.S.

government security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, EngineeringTechnology, orIndustrial Design from an accredited university or college.
At least 6 years of experience in design of gas turbine components.
Experience with handling 3D scan data and creating parametric models based on re-interpreted scan data.
System level CAD model, parametric modeling, and PLM/PDM experience.
Experience working with additive manufacturing technologies and familiarity with design for additive manufacturing principles.
Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Passion for additive technology and willingness to challenge current design limitations to further exploit the benefits of additive capability.
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S.Citizenship is required, as only U.S.Citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Responsibilities

Work with engineers to execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of turbomachinery components and assemblies using sound engineering principles while meeting industry standards and program requirements
Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerancestackups, and electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, and assembly. Provide quality checks toeliminateinterferences and to ensure interface requirements are met. Ensure drawings and models are managed consistent with industry standards for configuration management
Perform “reverse engineering” by using scan data and creating new part models using parametric modeling
Ensure product designs follow standards for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Support design reviews and collaborate with other disciplines in design, performance, controls, and system integration
Providetimelycommunications on significant issues or developments
Participate in the research and development of technologies and methodologies associated with additive design. Advise on ways to improve product design through the exploitation of additive manufacturing
Role will initially be an individual contributor comfortable working in a dynamic self-directed start-up environment. As the organization grows, this role willbe responsible forscaling design capability to supportadditionalprojects which willlikely includesome future team leadership. Being able to grow leadership capabilities with the role will be critical
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering best practices
