Job summary

Platinum Global Talent Solutions is seeking a Resident Engineer, Tunnel Engineering SME for the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP) in New York. Lead technical oversight of TBM tunneling, precast lining, and cross passages, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to meet tight schedules.

The role requires a Civil/Construction background, extensive TBM experience, and strong safety and quality controls. This is a high-profile, client-facing opportunity with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Proven experience working with TBMs.
• Tunneling experience, specifically in pressurized face TBM mining, precast concrete segmental lining, and cross passage construction.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Understanding of safety standards, regulations, and best practices in tunneling operations.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development, execution, supervision, and coordination of technical aspects; review plans, schedules, contracts, procedures, and methods.
• Represent Construction Management during Daily Construction Meetings with the Contractor.
• Support Senior CM Staff with technical input.
• Oversee TBM design, fabrication, and operation during tunneling.
• Oversee precast concrete segmental lining design, fabrication, delivery, and installation.
• Coordinate with project team to ensure timely tunneling per specs.
• Monitor tunneling progress, ground conditions, and excavation parameters.
• Review geotechnical and structural monitoring data.
• Implement safety protocols and quality control measures and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare progress reports and TBM operation reports.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions during tunneling.
• Coordinate with Outreach Team and Third-Party Stakeholders.
