Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Tunnel Engineer to join the Americas Region leadership team. You will lead design management and project oversight for major tunnel projects, mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence across a tunneling portfolio.

This role requires a PE license, 20+ years in tunnel engineering, and a track record in US leadership. The position offers a hybrid work model, strong compensation, and comprehensive benefits to support collaboration and growth.

Qualifications

• PE license required
• 20+ years in tunnel engineering
• 5+ years in a leadership role on major US tunnel projects
• Experience with TBM, NATM, cut-and-cover construction
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, PLAXIS and SAP 2000 or similar
• Strong communication and team leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for a portfolio of tunnel and underground projects within the Americas Region
• Take on Project or Design Manager roles overseeing planning, design and execution
• Offer expert guidance on complex engineering challenges and construction methodologies
• Mentor and develop a team of tunnel engineers
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to win new business
• Ensure safety, environmental and quality standards are met
• Stay current with tunneling innovations and contribute to firm-wide growth
