Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in Washington, DC seeks a highly experienced Tunnel Engineer to join the Americas Region Tunnel Leadership Team. You will lead technical strategies, oversee large-scale tunnel and underground projects, and mentor a team of engineers.

The role requires 20+ years in tunnel engineering with at least 5 years in leadership, PE license, and expertise in TBM, NATM, and cut‑and‑cover methods, plus strong communication to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
• Minimum 20 years in tunnel engineering with at least 5 years in a leadership role in the US

Responsibilities

• Provide overall technical leadership to a portfolio of tunnel projects
• Take on Project or Design Manager roles for large-scale tunnels
• Mentor and develop a team of tunnel engineers
• Collaborate with clients and agencies to build relationships and pursue opportunities
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
• Stay updated on advancements in tunnel engineering across Jacobs
