Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking an Enterprise Monitoring Engineer to support government operations from Annapolis Junction, MD. This role focuses on real-time visibility into system performance, alerting, data collection, and innovative enhancements across Linux/Windows environments.

You’ll work within a security-focused culture, interacting with government stakeholders, and guiding design and delivery of monitoring solutions while ensuring compliance with ATO processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline
• 10+ years of related experience
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Familiarity with EM technologies (e.g., SolarWinds or Splunk) and ability to learn more complex platforms

Responsibilities

• Providing real-time system monitoring, alerting, and data collection for all infrastructure services; collaborates with client/server and back-end system owners to define monitoring usage, data collection, and alert thresholds
• Providing technical integrity of work performed and deliverables in the Engineering area
• Guiding the design and development activities for enterprise infrastructure/network monitoring (Linux, Windows), SNMP, and Log Monitoring; may serve in a project leadership role
• Ensuring monitoring solution reports data to the enterprise monitor-of-monitors platform and analytics platform
• Interacting with government on Systems Engineering considerations; communicates with program personnel and leadership
• Participating in service delivery with weekly reporting, requirements development, and customer collaboration on roadmap for emerging technologies
• Reviewing requirements and specifications for monitoring tool protocols and future tool usage
• Assisting with other Enterprise Monitoring efforts across the program and client portfolio
• Experience with API integrations and processes
• Ability to support the ATO process including certification and accreditation
• Strong Windows Server Administration knowledge
• Demonstrated ability to learn new tools quickly
• Preferred: Netscout nGeniusONE experience or willingness to learn
