Job summary

HDVI is seeking a Senior Physical Damage Adjuster to lead complex commercial auto and cargo claims in a fast-paced environment. You will work with Claims and Fleet Services to influence resolutions for high-severity losses involving tractors, trailers, and cargo.

The role requires extensive knowledge of telematics, damage evaluation, and subrogation opportunities, with mentorship to junior staff and collaboration across internal teams. A remote-friendly policy supports flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of auto physical damage claims experience, including commercial trucking and cargo exposure.
• Active Adjuster’s License and ability to obtain/maintain state licenses.
• Advanced knowledge of commercial auto physical damage and motor truck cargo coverage.
• Strong knowledge of damage evaluation, repair, and total-loss valuation processes.
• Experience coordinating external claims resources (appraisers, surveyors, vendors).
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently investigate and resolve complex commercial auto physical damage and cargo claims.
• Evaluate coverage, causation, and damages using evidence (telematics, dash-cam, GPS).
• Investigate and evaluate complex motor truck cargo losses with supporting documents.
• Assess repair estimates, appraisals, and cost containment to ensure accurate claims.
• Manage total-loss, salvage, and cargo mitigation activities with proper documentation.
• Develop loss reserves and pursue subrogation and other recoveries.
