Senior Attorney - Litigation or Corporate/Transactional

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

Compensation: $250,000-$300,000 annually

Position Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced senior attorney specializing in either litigation or corporate/transactional law. The ideal candidate will have an established legal practice, a strong track record of business development, and the ability to maintain and expand sophisticated client relationships.

A portable book of business exceeding $800,000 annually is a mandatory requirement for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Litigation

• Manage complex litigation matters from inception through resolution, trial, and appeal.
• Develop litigation strategies and represent clients in court proceedings.
• Handle hearings, trials, depositions, and dispositive motion practice.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery materials.
• Manage client relationships and coordinate with co-counsel, experts, and other stakeholders.
• Supervise and mentor junior attorneys as needed.

Corporate/Transactional

• Advise clients on corporate and commercial transactions.
• Handle mergers and acquisitions, business transactions, and corporate structuring.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and transactional documents.
• Provide strategic legal counsel to business and corporate clients.
• Develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
• Identify business development opportunities and contribute to firm growth.

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active admission to practice law in New York, in good standing.
• Established experience in either litigation or corporate/transactional law.
• Portable book of business exceeding $800,000 annually (required).
• Proven ability to generate business and maintain strong client relationships.
• Excellent legal research, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage complex legal matters and collaborate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Senior Associate, Of Counsel, Partner, or Shareholder-level experience.
• Experience handling sophisticated legal matters and complex client relationships.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior attorneys.
• Established professional network and business development experience.
