The ideal candidate will manage pleadings, depositions, and court proceedings, while advising clients and collaborating with a talented team on sophisticated matters in a flexible hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of substantive commercial litigation experience
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage litigation from inception to resolution
• Substantial courtroom experience, including appearances, conferences, hearings, and motion practice
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills
• Sound judgment and ability to develop practical litigation strategies for sophisticated clients
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple matters and deadlines
• Portable book of business not required

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial litigation matters independently from initial case assessment through final resolution
• Develop case strategy and advise clients regarding risks, objectives, and potential outcomes
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery demands, responses, and other litigation documents
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
• Appear in court for conferences, hearings, oral arguments, and other proceedings
• Conduct written discovery, oversee document production, and resolve disputes
• Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trial
• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations and other ADR proceedings
• Collaborate with partners, associates, paralegals, and clients while maintaining primary responsibility
• Maintain responsive client communication and provide clear, practical legal advice

An established and growing mid-sized law firm based in New York, New York, with over 100 years in practice, is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney with 4+ years of experience to join its Commercial Litigation Group in a hybrid capacity.

This role is ideal for an experienced litigator who can independently manage files from inception through resolution and confidently handle complex commercial disputes, business litigation, contract disputes, court proceedings, depositions, and related litigation matters.
