Job summary

The General Foreperson at Wright Tree Service provides leadership and coaching to the crew to meet production goals while identifying safety hazards and ensuring OSHA compliance. This role prioritizes work, allocates tasks, and works under direction from the Project Manager.

Essential duties include direct oversight of line clearance crew, adherence to policies and union agreements, safety training, HR coordination, and maintaining crew records.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of experience on tree trimming or clearing crews or completed skills assessments.
• CPR/First-Aid credentials preferred; valid driver's license may be required.
• Ability to read and interpret maps and job specifications; OSHA awareness.

Responsibilities

• Supervise line clearance crew; assign tasks and enforce union agreements.
• Coach, train, and performance-manage staff per company policies.
• Ensure safety practices, job briefings, and OSHA compliance.
• Maintain production records: timesheets, work orders, units, manhours.
• Collaborate with HR on hiring, discipline, leaves, and policy enforcement.
• Interpret maps and drawings for power lines, voltages, and field work.
• Control costs through efficient manpower and methods.
• Maintain customer relations and coordinate with utility reps.
• Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections; perform routine maintenance.
• Travel 20–30% to support on-site operations and emergencies.
