Job summary

Moorhead is seeking an experienced Climber to perform tree climbing and rigging for land clearing and vegetation management projects. The role emphasizes safe, efficient removal of trees and limbs in areas not accessible by equipment.

Responsibilities include climbing with ropes, rigging to lower large limbs, and operating chainsaws aloft, while maintaining strict safety standards and mentoring junior crew members.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional climbing experience.
• Knowledge of climbing knots and rigging techniques.
• Ability to operate chainsaws safely while aloft.
• Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel to job sites.
• ISA Certified Tree Worker or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely climb trees using ropes, saddles and climbing gear to remove limbs and whole trees.
• Perform rigging operations to lower large limbs and sections of trees.
• Operate chainsaws, hand saws and other tree care equipment aloft and on the ground.
• Communicate with ground crew to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Inspect climbing and rigging equipment daily and report defects or concerns.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following OSHA, ANSI, and company safety guidelines.
• Assist with debris removal, cleanup, and other land clearing tasks as needed.
• Train and mentor junior crew members in safe climbing techniques and ground support.
