Job summary

BMO's Treasury Consultant role focuses on managing a portfolio of public sector clients, delivering tailored treasury solutions, and driving revenue growth in a consultative selling framework. You will collaborate with internal teams to ensure client success, regulatory compliance, and timely implementations across treasury and payment platforms.

The position requires 8+ years in treasury management sales, a strong background in cash management, and excellent relationship-building skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8+ years of experience in treasury management sales within banking or fintech.
• Proven ability to manage complex client relationships and deliver consultative solutions.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills; proficiency with Excel and reporting tools.
• Deep knowledge of treasury products, payment systems, and cash management strategies.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• CTP preferred.
• Master’s degree preferred; related disciplines considered.
• Seasoned professional with education, experience and industry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of public sector clients by identifying treasury needs and delivering tailored solutions.
• Achieve/exceed key objectives and goals for sales production, new relationships, cross-selling and portfolio growth.
• Partner with Relationship Managers to deepen existing customer relationships and convert prospective clients through strategic account planning and joint calling.
• Develop proposals, pricing strategies, and presentations to support new business opportunities and deepen TPS relationships.
• Regularly call on clients to conduct business reviews, address issues, and provide insights on liquidity management and payment optimization.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to internal controls within client engagements.
