Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Mechanical Superintendent to supervise field operations, mentor foremen and laborers, and ensure project execution aligns with drawings and specifications. The role focuses on organization, scheduling, cost control, and safe, compliant delivery on multi-location sites.

The candidate will liaise with clients, engineers, and subcontractors, oversee change orders, and drive project completion and turnover while maintaining strong client relations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction experience with 5+ years in a Superintendent/Leadership role, preferably in the OGC industry.
• Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience leading safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and grow Jr. Supervisors
• Review and approve the balance of Foremen, journeymen and laborers’ composite labor rates
• Manage contract administration and field management meetings for communication
• Develop a program to maintain good client relations involving staff on site
• Initiate and attend supplementary and regular meetings with client for problem resolution and planning
• Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections
• Review, approve and negotiate change orders
• Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover
• Maintain daily diary for record keeping purposes
• Ensure performance evaluations and direct reports are completed in a timely fashion
• Recommend organizational, policy and procedural or staff changes
• Review and approve or reject promotions up to General Foremen.
