The Senior Recruiter is a senior individual contributor responsible for managing complex recruiting initiatives, developing advanced sourcing strategies, and serving as a trusted recruiting partner within an assigned healthcare specialty. This role independently manages a high-performing recruiting desk while consistently delivering exceptional candidate experiences, developing long-term clinician relationships, and contributing to the overall success of the recruiting organization.

Senior Recruiter possesses deep knowledge of healthcare staffing, labor market trends, specialty-specific recruiting strategies, and clinician relationship management. In addition to managing their own recruiting responsibilities, this role serves as an informal mentor and resource for less experienced recruiters by sharing best practices, providing guidance, and helping elevate recruiting capabilities across the team.

Success in this role is measured by consistent recruiting execution, development of sustainable talent pipelines, quality placement outcomes, market expertise, clinician retention, collaboration, and contribution to the continued advancement of the recruiting function.

  • Recruit experienced travel nurses across specialty practice areas and complex healthcare environments
  • Develop advanced understanding of nursing workforce trends, compact licensure, specialty certifications, and travel healthcare markets
  • Build long-term clinician relationships that support repeat travel assignments and referral generation
  • Support fulfillment of specialized client staffing requirements through proactive recruiting strategies

Strategic Candidate Sourcing & Talent Pipeline Development

  • Proactively identify emerging talent pools, specialty markets, and sourcing opportunities to support current and future business demand
  • Utilize multiple sourcing channels, networking strategies, referrals, market intelligence, and digital recruiting technologies to attract high-quality clinicians
  • Continuously evaluate sourcing effectiveness and implement improvements that strengthen recruiting outcomes

Advanced Candidate Relationship Management

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare professionals throughout the recruiting lifecycle
  • Build long-term clinician relationships that encourage repeat assignments and ongoing engagement
  • Provide consultative guidance regarding career opportunities, compensation trends, licensing requirements, market conditions, and assignment selection
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience through consistent communication, transparency, and relationship management

Full-Cycle Recruiting & Business Ownership

  • Independently manage a complex recruiting desk with minimal supervision
  • Own the complete recruiting lifecycle from sourcing through assignment completion
  • Balance multiple priorities while effectively managing candidate pipelines, placement activities, and business objectives
  • Demonstrate sound recruiting judgment while aligning clinician interests with client staffing needs

Market Expertise & Business Partnership

  • Utilize market intelligence to advise internal partners and strengthen recruiting strategies

  • Identify market opportunities and recommend recruiting strategies that improve organizational competitiveness

Recruiting Operations & Performance Excellence

  • Maintain operational excellence through accurate documentation, workflow management, and compliance with recruiting processes
  • Monitor recruiting performance, workflow efficiency, and candidate activity to improve recruiting effectiveness
  • Utilize recruiting analytics and performance data to guide decision-making and prioritize recruiting efforts
  • Contribute to operational improvements that enhance recruiter productivity and candidate experience

Recruiting Technology & AI Enablement

  • Leverage applicant tracking systems, CRM platforms, AI-enabled recruiting tools, automation technologies, and recruiting analytics to improve recruiting performance
  • Utilize AI-assisted sourcing, communication, market research, and workflow automation to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Evaluate new recruiting technologies and share best practices that improve recruiting execution
  • Promote effective use of technology throughout the recruiting process
  • Serve as an informal mentor for junior recruiting team members
  • Share recruiting strategies, sourcing techniques, market intelligence, and operational best practices across the recruiting organization
  • Support onboarding and development of new recruiters through coaching and peer mentorship
  • Foster collaboration and contribute positively to the culture and performance of the recruiting team
