Job summary

Community Agency for Senior Citizens in Staten Island, NY, seeks a Part-Time Temporary Transportation Assistant to coordinate transportation services for older adults enrolled in the CASC Transportation Program. You will schedule rides through a contracted car service for medical appointments, grocery shopping, and other essential needs, following NYC Aging standards of operation.

The ideal candidate is organized, patient, detail-oriented, and able to communicate effectively with older adults

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in scheduling, transportation coordination, customer service, healthcare, senior services, social services, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process transportation requests.
• Schedule and coordinate rides with the contracted transportation provider for medical appointments, grocery shopping, and other approved essential needs.
• Confirm trip details and communicate schedules, changes, cancellations, and delays with clients.
• Maintain accurate transportation records and follow program eligibility, confidentiality, scheduling policies, and standards of operations to ensure consistent, efficient, and compliant service delivery.
• Provide courteous, patient, and respectful service to older adults.
• Conduct client intake as needed.
• Communicate client needs or recurring transportation issues to Program Director.
• Assist with other administrative and program-related duties as assigned.
