Job summary

Hires Group is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager to lead planning, design and delivery of roadway infrastructure in Tennessee. You will shape project direction across roadway design, structures, traffic engineering, and ITS, while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• 10+ years of experience in transportation engineering or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical contributor and task lead for state/local agencies.
• Develop and review roadway geometry, plans and design docs per standards.
• Conduct site reviews and inspections for quality and compliance.

Lead the planning, design, and delivery of innovative roadway and transportation infrastructure projects across Tennessee as a Senior Transportation Project Manager. This role provides the opportunity to shape project direction in areas such as roadway design, structures, traffic engineering, and intelligent transportation systems.

The job:

• Lead and deliver roadway and transportation infrastructure design tasks as a Senior Transportation Project Manager.
• Serve as a technical contributor and task lead for state and local transportation agencies.
• Develop and review roadway geometry, plans, and design documents to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards, supporting high‑quality, constructible solutions.
• Conduct site reviews and inspections of transportation facilities, verifying design intent, construction quality, and adherence to project requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project managers.
• Contribute to Business Development for the firm.
