Job summary

Virginia Department of Transportation seeks an experienced Civil Engineer to oversee the design and preparation of preliminary and final contract plans for highways and related infrastructure. Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Valid Professional Engineer's license.
Experience in roadway design and transportation projects.

Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects.

Responsibilities

Oversee design and preparation of preliminary and final contract plans for highways, structures, drainage and environmental issues.
Coordinate with internal staff, local governments, consultants and FHWA regarding transportation projects and programs.
Manage design projects to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery and monitor schedules and resources.
Provide engineering expertise and guidance across program areas; develop and monitor policies and procedures.
