Caltrans is seeking the Office Chief of Project Management in District 1 to lead the Project Management Office, directing the division and coordinating with Headquarters to deliver the Capital Outlay Program (STIP, SB-1, SHOPP) and related projects in the southern counties (Lake and Mendocino). The role emphasizes leadership, policy guidance, and stakeholder coordination.

The position is permanent and full-time with telework eligibility and a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
• Experience: One year of transportation engineering experience as a senior level engineer in the California state service.
• Or two years of supervisory or managerial experience equivalent in level to a Senior Transportation Planner in the California state service, plus two years of civil engineering work at the Associate Engineer level or higher.

Responsabilités

• Plan, organize, direct, and monitor the activities of the Project Management Division.
• Represent the department on policy matters and statewide priorities related to project management.
• Present to the public and coordinate with HQ on policy matters and program delivery.
