Job summary

STV is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead major transportation infrastructure projects for NJDOT and other public-sector clients in New Jersey. This role requires a PE license and a proven history of delivering projects from planning through construction.

You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk, and serve as the primary client liaison. STV offers a competitive benefits package and opportunities to shape regional transportation programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey.
• 15+ years of progressive transportation engineering and project management experience.
• Experience managing major transportation projects for NJDOT, NJTA, or similar public agencies.
• Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
• Successful management of a NJDOT project as PM through construction

Responsibilities

• Lead large, complex transportation infrastructure projects from Preliminary Engineering through Construction Completion.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk to ensure successful delivery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, subconsultants, and technical specialists.
• Oversee preparation and delivery of design documents, engineering reports, and project submissions.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with NJDOT, NJTA, municipalities, regulatory agencies, and project partners.
• Facilitate collaboration among project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
• Lead project meetings and provide clear communication on project status, risks, and milestones.
• Support public outreach initiatives and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Ensure compliance with NJDOT, FHWA, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
• Manage environmental review efforts and coordinate NEPA documentation and approvals.
• Oversee quality management processes and adherence to transportation design standards.
• Provide technical guidance on highway, bridge, structural, traffic, utility, and roadway improvement projects.
• Support construction engineering and inspection activities during project delivery.
• Review shop drawings, construction schedules, and contractor submissions.
• Coordinate Change of Plans and other construction-phase engineering activities.
• Work closely with construction teams to resolve technical challenges and support successful project execution.
