Job summary

Volkert is seeking a Sr. Project Manager/Team Leader to manage projects and lead a design team in El Paso, TX. The role involves expanding services across the Texas Region, managing the Texas Engineering staff, and delivering profitable project results.

You will oversee complex engineering design tasks, marketing, business development, and client relations while mentoring staff and ensuring project success.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil engineering from ABET accredited program.
• Licensed Texas P.E.
• 15+ years of progressive transportation/roadway, municipal, and/or water/wastewater experience.
• 5+ years of experience in management of engineering and support staff.
• Proficient with OpenRoads Designer.
• Experience working with TxDOT and the El Paso area.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory MVR.

Responsibilities

• Principal in Charge for all engineering design aspects of our El Paso office (marketing and operations)
• Be a practice builder – growing services, clients, and geography
• Serve as the lead with key client and contract management
• Recruit, develop and retain El Paso staff
• Manage transportation projects to meet financial and technical requirements
• Writing proposals
• Participating and/or leading interviews
• Performing contract negotiations
• Project work planning
• Supervising the execution of work
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations
• Participate in marketing and business development
