Job summary

Volkert is seeking a Sr. Project Manager/Team Leader in El Paso, TX to lead a design team and manage complex transportation projects. You will drive profitable delivery, mentor staff, and engage clients while growing our Texas operations.

Ideal candidates hold a Texas P.E. license with 15+ years in transportation/roadway projects, plus 5+ years of staff management and OpenRoads Designer proficiency.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil engineering from ABET accredited program.
• Licensed Texas P.E.
• 15+ years of progressive transportation/roadway, municipal, or water/wastewater experience.
• 5+ years of management of engineering and support staff.
• Proficient with OpenRoads Designer.
• Ability to manage and assist in production of design deliverables.
• Experience working with TxDOT and the El Paso area.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening per safety policy; comply with regulations.
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory MVR.

Responsibilities

• Principal in Charge for all engineering design aspects of our El Paso office (marketing and operations).
• Be a practice builder – growing services, clients, and geography.
• Serve as the lead with key client and contract management.
• Recruit, develop and retain El Paso staff.
• Manage transportation projects to meet financial and technical requirements.
• Writing proposals.
• Participating and/or leading interviews.
• Performing contract negotiations.
• Project work planning.
• Supervising the execution of work.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations.
• Participate in marketing and business development.
