Job summary

Michael Baker International in Alaska is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of transportation projects. You will mentor teams, guide technical decisions, and strengthen relationships with public and private clients across Alaska.

You will work with roadway, bridge, rail, aviation, environmental, planning, public involvement, and water resources experts, leveraging national resources to deliver innovative solutions in a high backlog and growth environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Alaska or ability to obtain Alaska licensure via comity.
• 10+ years of transportation and civil engineering design experience including plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Proven experience managing transportation infrastructure projects and leading multidisciplinary project teams.
• 5+ years supervising, mentoring and developing technical staff.
• Knowledge of Design-Build and other delivery methods preferred.
• Established relationships within the Alaska transportation market and ability to develop client partnerships.
• Experience leading proposals, interviews, and business development efforts.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and GIS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver transportation projects from planning through design and construction support.
• Provide technical leadership and guide engineering design decisions.
• Mentor multidisciplinary project teams and promote technical excellence.
• Develop and strengthen client relationships across Alaska.
• Support strategic pursuits, proposals, and industry engagement initiatives.
