Job summary

Michael Baker International in Manassas, VA, is seeking a senior Civil/Environmental Engineer to lead study, design, and administration of water, wastewater, and stormwater projects. The role involves planning analyses, developing reports, hydraulic modeling, and preparing design calculations and specifications.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, support client meetings, review shop drawings, and assist with proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years' experience in the study, design, and administration of water, wastewater and or stormwater infrastructure systems
• Virginia Professional Engineer license required (or ability to obtain by comity)
• Demonstrated proficiency in organization and presentation of documentation
• Working knowledge AutoCAD and or MicroStation
• Knowledge of Civil 3D and or Open Roads a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint is required
• Be self-starter, versatile and interested in working on a variety of projects

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning studies, analyses, and preliminary engineering efforts
• Develop engineering reports and technical memoranda
• Perform hydraulic modeling
• Prepare design calculations, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
• Research products and materials and conduct technical evaluations
• Assist with preparation of quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
• Participate in field visits and investigations
• Participate in client meetings, meeting preparation, and presentations
• Support construction efforts by reviewing shop drawings for conformance to contract documents
• Assist in management and supervision of contractors and subconsultants during all project phases
• Assist with technical proposals during pursuit of key projects
• Communicate and coordinate with project teams from other disciplines
• Work with senior Project Engineers and Managers in developing project documents
