Job summary

HDR is seeking a Project Executive to support transportation projects, guiding the project delivery team through lifecycle phases including procurement and execution. You will assist the NY/NJ Transportation Manager in strategic planning to drive growth and performance for the NY/NJ area.

Primary responsibilities include developing opportunities, coordinating design teams, and ensuring disciplined delivery while mitigating risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 15 years related experience.
• Minimum 7 years project management experience.
• Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the position location (PE or P.Eng).
• MS Office and MS Project experience required (Access experience would be a plus).
• Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills.
• Active participation in our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Networking with clients and strategic partners to identify opportunities in design and construction management.
• Evaluate opportunities and determine courses of action (go/no-go, positioning).
• Coordinate design teams and select subconsultants/teaming partners.
• Oversee proposal development to create competitive, high-quality bids and manage risk.
• Oversee execution to deliver performance while managing risk exposure.
• Serve as executive liaison between project team and client during execution.
• Conduct regular reviews to foster communication and successful delivery.
• Support change management and resolve issues at the project level.
