Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to drive design and delivery of transportation projects across the firm, including Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and P3. You will prepare roadway design plans in OpenRoads Designer (ORD), contribute to technical reports, and support plan production and modeling with experienced teams.

Remote options are available, with a preference for a hybrid arrangement based near Fairfax, VA. Expect travel as required by project needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Eight or more years of experience in transportation infrastructure design.
Active PE license in VA or ability to obtain within six months.
Proficient in ORD for roadway design and modeling.
Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with DOT standards across multiple states is helpful.

Responsibilities

Lead or support technical design on alternative delivery transportation projects.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices to develop design solutions.
Serve as a liaison between internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
Develop and review plans, specifications, cost estimates, and design reports using ORD.
Participate in proposals, design-build pursuits, and technical presentations.
Mentor junior engineers and support career development.
Ensure quality control and compliance with standards and client requirements.
Stay informed about industry trends and delivery methods.
