Job summary

STV, Inc. in Chicago is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer to lead technical design for roadway, utility, and site improvement projects.

You will guide the design team, prepare reports, plans, and calculations, and coordinate with clients and stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary environment. The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, a PE license (within 1 year), 5+ years of civil design experience, and proficiency with Microstation, GeoPak, OpenRoads, and ProjectWise; strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Illinois PE license or ability to obtain within one year; other state licenses a plus
• Minimum of five years of experience with civil design
• Experience with IDOT, Tollway, City of Chicago, utility agencies, and/or municipalities
• Proficiency in Microstation, GeoPak, ProjectWise, and OpenRoads; MS Office
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead technical tasks for Phase 1 and Phase 2 transportation projects
• Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering staff
• Produce technical reports, plans, specifications, calculations, exhibits, and forms
• Attend client meetings and field site visits as needed
• Coordinate with outside consultants on project tasks and schedules
• Develop design templates to streamline production and improve quality
• Assist PMs and Group Leads with resource planning and internal work sharing
• Attend industry workshops and trainings
