Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC in Florida is seeking a motivated Transportation Senior Project Manager to lead transportation projects for local municipalities or FDOT, including planning, design, and permitting. Qualifications

• 12+ years of civil or transportation engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Florida.
• Experience managing municipal or county transportation projects.
• Working knowledge of FDOT standards, the Florida Design Manual (FDM), MUTCD, and local design criteria.
• Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads and AutoCAD.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to lead client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Manage design and delivery of transportation projects for local and regional government clients.
• Serve as Project Manager for assigned projects—responsible for scope, schedule, budget, and client coordination.
• Prepare and oversee development of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) in accordance with FDOT and local standards.
• Coordinate with public agencies, utility providers, and permitting authorities.
• Conduct and/or oversee traffic analysis, safety studies, and roadway geometry design.
• Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff.
