Jacobs is seeking a Senior-Level Transportation Planner to join our team in Austin, San Antonio, or Houston, Texas. You’ll lead planning projects from multimodal corridors to regional plans, collaborating with clients and stakeholders to deliver impactful transportation solutions.

The role emphasizes technical delivery and client engagement, with opportunities to shape transportation across Texas and contribute to business development efforts in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in planning, policy, engineering or related field.
• Professional planning certification (AICP).
• Experience in transportation and land use planning, analysis, and studies.
• Experience in planning, land use, active transportation, transit, and/or multimodal corridors.
• Previous MPO/DOT/County/Municipal transportation project experience.
• Demonstrated ability building and maintaining client relationships and serving as trusted advisor to transportation agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation planning projects ranging from multimodal corridor studies to regional plans.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to identify opportunities and support growth.
• Deliver technical presentations to regulators, agencies and the public; produce advanced technical write-ups.

You'll help lead transportation planning projects ranging from multimodal corridor studies and regional transportation plans to strategic mobility and infrastructure initiatives. As a key member of our growing planning practice, you'll work directly with clients and stakeholders, serving as a trusted partner while helping identify opportunities to expand relationships and support continued business growth.

This role is ideal for a planner who enjoys both technical project delivery and client engagement as well as playing an active role in shaping the future of transportation across Texas.

Here’s what you’ll need

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in planning, policy, engineering or related field
• Professional planning certification (AICP)
• Experience in transportation and land use planning, analysis, and studies
• Experience in planning, land use, active transportation, transit, and/or multimodal corridors
• Previous Metropolitan Planning Agency (MPO), Department of Transportation (DOT), County, or Municipal transportation project experience
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong client relationships, with the ability to establish credibility and serve as a trusted advisor to transportation agencies and project stakeholders.
• Experience supporting business development activities, identifying client needs, and contributing to the pursuit and capture of new work.
• Project management and leadership experience as a planner, task manager or possibly a project manager on transportation planning projects
• Skilled in developing and delivering technical presentations to stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and/or the public
• Advanced technical writing abilities

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience facilitating discussions and presenting complex information
• Basic to advanced knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS applications (Pro and AGO), Adobe Creative Cloud applications, Microsoft Office and Project
• Experience with Reporting and Data Visualization Tools such as Tableau or Power BI

The base salary range for this position is $98,900.00 to $170,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
