Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to lead initiatives that shape thriving cities and safe, efficient transportation networks in Dallas. You will oversee initiation, planning, design, execution, and closure of transportation projects, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

Ideal candidates bring a Civil Engineering degree, 10+ years of relevant experience, Texas P.E., and proven ability to manage complex design projects while maintaining client

Responsibilities

  • Lead initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring and closure of transportation projects.
  • Coordinate with roadway, drainage, structural, traffic and environmental disciplines.
  • Represent Jacobs at meetings, hearings, and industry events to expand the business network.
  • Establish fee estimates and coordinate staffing for each project phase.
  • Deliver projects meeting state, county and DOT/AASHTO standards.

In this role, other activities include:
  • Have responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project. Lead the planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, safety, and organization of internal technical and support staff, and subcontractors for the project.
  • Coordination with all complimentary disciplines (roadway, drainage, structural, traffic, public involvement and environmental), technical preparation and supervision of roadway and planning design tasks, perform plan quality reviews, participate in value engineering studies.
  • Represents Jacobs at meetings, presentations, and public hearings relative to assigned projects. Actively participating in transportation and other professional associations and transportation industry events such as ACEC, WTS, ASCE, TRB, AASHTO, etc. to establish, improve, and maintain a business network beneficial for personal development, to advance client knowledge and relationships, and to help identify future prospects.
  • Establish fee estimates and coordinate multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of the project while working with the Project Management Principal and Group Leaders regarding assignment of project personnel.
  • Deliver projects that meet local (State, County or City) and DOT/AASHTO standards. Demonstrate your business acumen when you maintain positive relationships with current and past clients.

Here’s what you’ll need
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
  • At least 10 years relevant experience
  • Texas Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or the ability to obtain within 6 months bases on P.E. license from another state
  • Demonstrated progressive experience as an engineer and a project manager in the transportation design field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of transportation projects
  • Well-rounded technical design skills encompassing all contributing disciplines
  • Strong client facing project manager with skills delivering design projects and can bring a team together

The base salary range for this position is $99,000.00 to $145,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
