Job summary
State of South Carolina’s Department of Transportation seeks a District Maintenance Engineer/Assistant role to support planning, supervision, and inspection across District 7. You will assist with annual planning, project reviews, and erosion/traffic control recommendations while supervising the district maintenance teams.
The role involves data analysis in HMMS/EAMS, budget oversight, and collaboration with county officials.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management.
- Six (6) years of engineering or construction management work experience.
- Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Physical demands may require sitting, standing, travel, and outdoor work in varying conditions.
Responsibilities
- Assist the District Maintenance Engineer in planning, organizing, supervision and inspection of maintenance work in District 7.
- Assist DME in development of the District’s Annual Business Plan and review of project plans.
- Review and recommend erosion and traffic control for maintenance operations; oversee quality management in District 7.
- Analyze HMMS/EAMS data with the Coordinator and ensure budgets are expended effectively.
- Assist in creating contracts for maintenance items and attend meetings with county officials and stakeholders.
