Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Transportation Planner for the Washington area (Bellevue/Seattle). The role focuses on planning world-class transportation choices and communicating strategically to support analysis and decision making.

The position may be based in Bellevue or Seattle offices with potential client co-location. Responsibilities include directing large projects, engaging with clients, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and delivering on schedule while leveraging HDR's employee-owned

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering or a related field.
10+ years' experience with transportation planning.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Understanding of transit planning principles.
Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and personnel.

Responsibilities

Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of large multidiscipline transportation planning and environmental projects.
Interface with client staff and leadership to support analysis and decision making.
Direct work of others to complete required studies, documents and reports.
Demonstrate extensive public participation and agency coordination experience.
Coordinate staffing and workloads to complete documents on schedule.
Participate in design development and contract document work sessions with technical teams.
