Job summary

Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) is seeking a Senior or Principal Transportation Planner to lead planning, research, and policy analysis across the CRCOG region. The role involves coordinating committees, managing staff tasks at the Principal level, and guiding safety-related projects with regional partners.

The position notes two grades with respective salary ranges, and a 50/50 hybrid work policy. AICP certification is preferred, and a Master’s degree is favored for advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Urban/Regional Planning, Urban Studies, Geography, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred; equivalent training/experience considered.
• AICP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation planning, research, and policy analysis for the CRCOG region.
• Support or oversee planning studies, RFQ process, consultant selection, contracting, and invoicing.
• Work with staff to help the Agency and municipalities complete transportation projects and initiatives.
• Assist in organizing Transportation Committee meetings and activities.
• Assign and oversee tasks for one or more transportation planning staff members (Principal level).
• Coordinate efforts associated with advancing non-infrastructure recommendations from CRCOG transportation safety plans; engage partners and communities.
• Other duties as assigned
