Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years related logistics and supply chain experience
• At least 3 years managerial or supervisory experience
• High School degree or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred for advancement
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential
• Willingness to travel, work the required schedule, and pass background checks and drug screening

Responsibilities

• Ensure supervisors understand how their work ties to customers' objectives; interview and hire up to supervisor level; develop direct reports through training and succession planning.
• Interact daily with the customer to understand needs; identify operational improvements in routing, carrier selection, backhauls, and warehouse operations; share best practices with other Penske sites.
• Develop and manage annual financial and operating plans; ensure invoicing and payroll accuracy; monitor P&L; manage payables and intercompany charges.
• Monitor and improve safety; ensure compliance with policies; identify and correct unsafe conditions and behaviors.
• Track and record value delivered to the customer; identify profitable opportunities; monitor metrics to maximize efficiency and cost savings.
• Monitor fleet utilization and fuel efficiency; contribute to equipment specifications; build relationships with PTL district and vendors.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
