Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Senior Manager, Transportation Operations to lead transportation, yard management, and dispatch teams across one or more locations, delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution while meeting service and safety goals.

You will drive performance, coach supervisors, manage budgets, and collaborate with customers to optimize processes, ensure compliance with DOT regulations, and maintain a best-in-class customer experience.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred.
• Master's degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation or related field preferred.
• Five (5) years or more relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or industry related field required.
• Five (5) years or more managing, leading and developing direct reports required.
• Three (3) years or more Profit & Loss responsibility preferred.
• One (1) year or more customer interaction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee transportation, dispatch, and yard management operations across multiple shifts, sites, or customer accounts.
• Ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all transportation services, including yard movements, shuttle operations, and regional transportation activities.
• Establish operational priorities and provide strategic direction to supervisors and frontline leadership teams.
• Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions to address service failures, productivity gaps, and operational disruptions.
• Develop contingency plans to support business continuity and customer requirements during peak periods, staffing shortages, or unforeseen disruptions.
