Job summary

The Dakota County Transportation Department is seeking motivated individuals to fill permanent maintenance position(s) at the Empire Transportation Facility. The role involves operating trucks and highway equipment for snow and ice removal and supporting roadway maintenance. Regular hours are 7:00 a.m.

to 3:30 p.m. with overtime as needed; one full-time position is available. A High School diploma and 2 years driving/construction experience, plus a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement, are

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years driving or operating heavy equipment.
• Valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement.
• Ability to read equipment manuals and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks for snow and ice removal.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Respond to weather emergencies and storm conditions.
• Maintain and clean transportation facilities and equipment.
• Repair mailboxes as requested by the public.
• Attend meetings and trainings to improve performance.
• Collaborate with other departments and MnDOT.
