Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Senior Manager, Transportation Fleet/Backhaul in Deerfield, IL to lead successful implementations and ongoing improvements of the Mercury Gate TMS for the region. This role will be the super user and process expert, aligning TMS capabilities with business needs across a cluster of sites.

You will work with regional transportation teams to reduce costs, increase backhaul revenue, and enable users to optimize the TMS for best-in-class results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years in supply chain or business role with 2+ years in finance decisions.
• 2+ years of direct or cross-functional leadership.
• Willing to travel up to 25% for business purposes.

Responsibilities

• Has end-to-end process knowledge; learns and tests Mercury Gate TMS, including design validation.
• Coordinates and develops end-user trainers; serves as system admin lead for the region.
• Drives innovative processes aligned with department strategies to achieve results.
• Interacts with senior management; adapts to change while maintaining relationships.
• Fosters collaboration within Transportation Team focused on accountability and improvement.
• Owns KPI measurement and highlights site-specific opportunities for course-corrections.
• Champions company initiatives to boost engagement and align with vision.
• Monitors industry trends and regulatory issues in Transportation; shares learnings.
• Mentors through onboarding, communication, training, and development opportunities.
