City of Lacey is seeking an Engineering Transportation Manager to supervise the Transportation section, directing planning, funding, design, construction, and maintenance of the City’s transportation systems.

The role reviews development transportation designs, analyzes alternatives, and oversees advanced engineering assignments. Requires PE license or eligible, strong leadership, grant management, and public engagement capabilities.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field required; 6 years of civil engineering experience with transportation design/traffic engineering; minimum 3 years lead/supervisory experience.
• MS in Civil Engineering or related field required; 4 years of related experience; minimum 3 years lead/supervisory experience.
• Combination of education/experience may substitute for above requirements.

Responsabilités

• Supervise, coach, train, and motivate staff; manage workflow and performance; oversee hiring and staffing.
• Administer transportation systems planning, funding, design, construction, and maintenance; lead staff and consultants.
• Develop and manage grants, submit timely applications; oversee Transportation Improvement Program.
• Review private development applications and traffic studies; administer Traffic Mitigation Program.
• Monitor operations; respond to citizen inquiries; coordinate informational meetings.
• Represent the City on committees and attend meetings; prepare reports and presentations.
