Job summary

Egis is seeking an experienced Transportation Engineering Lead to provide senior technical leadership and project management for complex transportation infrastructure projects in Illinois. The role focuses on Phase I studies for IDOT and Illinois Tollway, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring NEPA and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years in transportation engineering, IL PE licensure, and proven leadership of multidisciplinary projects with IDOT/Tollway experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• PE license in Illinois (required).
• 12+ years of progressive transportation engineering experience with emphasis on Phase I studies.
• Demonstrated experience leading IDOT and Illinois Tollway projects.
• Strong knowledge of Phase I Engineering, Feasibility Studies, Alternatives Analysis, Corridor Studies, NEPA documentation, and environmental coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead Phase I transportation engineering projects for IDOT, Illinois Tollway, municipalities, and other public agencies.
• Manage preliminary engineering and feasibility studies for highways, interchanges, bridges, and multimodal improvements.
• Direct alternatives analyses, corridor studies, concept development, and engineering evaluations.
• Oversee preparation of Phase I engineering documents, reports, and design studies.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and maintain strong client relationships with IDOT and Tollway.
