Job summary

The City of Fort Worth seeks a Senior Professional Engineer to lead Vision Zero initiatives within the Planning/Engineering team, addressing traffic safety concerns and implementing infrastructure solutions. You will help advance the ADA & Sidewalk and Safe Routes to School programs through innovative safety plans and collaboration with multiple city departments.

As a supervisor of three, you will coordinate field investigations, manage project scopes and budgets, and utilize VueWorks for asset

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Three (3) years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience, with two years in traffic safety studies or safety countermeasures implementation.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in Texas; if licensed elsewhere, must obtain Texas registration within six months.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to a team of three (one engineer and two technicians).
• Develop safety countermeasure concepts and coordinate with contractors to implement safety projects.
• Handle public service requests, coordinate field investigations and data collection, and implement short-term countermeasures (signs, markings, beacons, ramps).
• Manage pedestrian infrastructure projects, scopes, schedules and budgets within the Annual Work Plan.
• Use VueWorks to plan, track and document transportation assets.
