Job summary

Stantec in Lexington, KY seeks a Senior Transportation Engineer to lead roadway design from concept through construction. You will manage design delivery, work independently on smaller tasks, and collaborate on larger initiatives, guiding projects to reliability, resource efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

The role involves mentoring junior staff and coordinating with project teams while focusing on highways, interchanges, corridors, and mega projects from our Lexington office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in highway/roadway design.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and prepare complex engineering designs, plans, and drawings for a variety of projects, including urban and rural roadways, highways, and intersections.
• Apply advanced knowledge of transportation engineering principles and stay current on evolving methods and technologies.
• Assist with client production.
• Coordinate effectively with Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Responsible for the design, plan production and quality reviews of assigned projects.
• Supervise and mentor engineers, CAD staff, and junior team members, providing leadership, guidance, and professional development.
