Job summary

Fehr & Peers is seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer or Planner to lead multimodal transportation projects in the Sacramento region. You will shape project definitions, apply technical expertise, and collaborate with clients to deliver value-driven results.

You will contribute to strategy, mentor junior staff, and help grow the team while upholding professional judgment and accountability for project outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in transportation planning or engineering.
• Experience with traffic operations analysis, planning, and forecasting.
• Strong writing and public speaking skills; project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and solve complex transportation planning and engineering challenges across all travel modes.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly through writing, presentations, and client discussions.
• Apply analytical tools and software to develop practical recommendations.
• Work on diverse projects including traffic and transit simulation and multimodal studies.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, and client coordination for projects.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and mentor junior staff.
• Adopt new tools and technologies while maintaining professional judgment.
