Job summary

HDR in Nashville, TN seeks a Senior Transportation Engineer to lead transportation projects through all design phases. You will perform QA/QC reviews on interstate and state highway systems, and act as a technical expert solving complex problems for key clients.

You will mentor staff, manage projects, and coordinate with HDR’s Transportation Business Group to deliver safe, sustainable mobility solutions. An PE license and 10+ years of roadway experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is required.
• 10+ years of experience in roadway engineering design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent.
• Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, traffic management, and design.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication skills, and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation projects through all phases of development.
• Perform QA/QC reviews on highway projects.
• Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in a specialty.
• Mentor and train staff in engineering and technical work.
• Perform project management duties and support Project Managers.
• Act as client main contact and support key clients.
• Supervise medium to large staff of professionals and technicians.
• Support projects for other HDR business groups.
• Perform other duties as needed.
