Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Phoenix office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join our Transportation Planning and Traffic team. This on-site role focuses on traffic engineering, planning, and ITS projects for diverse clients in the Phoenix area.

You will lead projects, mentor staff, and contribute to business development while collaborating with jurisdictions, contractors, and a team of industry professionals.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering and design, operations, or ITS planning and design.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficiency in Synchro, HCS and/or Vissim tools.
• Ability to work in a team, balance priorities, and communicate with all levels.
• Ability to mentor staff and allocate resources effectively.
• Deliver high-quality client-focused deliverables.
• Experience in writing proposals, scoping work, and budgeting for projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic engineering and project management tasks for transportation planning and ITS projects.
• Develop growth vision for personal practice and contribute to team expansion.
• Manage projects to be profitable and mentor junior staff.
• Lead marketing efforts and pursue new clients and opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineers, jurisdictions, and contractors on diverse projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and clients.
• Support execution of projects from scoping through delivery.
