Job summary

State of Arizona Department of Transportation is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer in Flagstaff, supervising two units and directing engineering for complex contracts. You will ensure compliance with plans, specs, and regulations while managing personnel and resources.

The role requires leadership, planning, and oversight of consultants, with responsibilities across safety, standards, and project execution. A valid PE and Arizona licensure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Civil Engineering theory and practices.
• Knowledge of Federal and State statutes, agency standards, regulations and procedures.
• Knowledge of resource management methods, procedures and techniques.
• Knowledge of computer applications asrelated to the assignment.
• Knowledge of safety practices and policy applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and technical direction for administration of complex construction contracts ensuring work meets design intent and safety standards.
• Perform personnel management, evaluation, discipline, hiring and guidance of staff per policies.
• Set work standards to maximize efficiency and coordinate district objectives for construction processes.
