Confidential Employer in Central Connecticut invites an experienced Transportation Engineer to lead planning, design, and execution of transportation and municipal infrastructure projects from concept through completion.

You will develop innovative designs for highways, bridges, trails, and complete streets, while preparing plans, reports, and cost estimates. The role emphasizes coordination with municipalities, agencies, and multidisciplinary teams, plus mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional transportation engineering experience.
• Demonstrated transportation infrastructure design experience involving highways, bridges, trails, complete streets, pedestrian facilities, or traffic engineering.
• Strong understanding of transportation engineering principles, design standards, and project delivery.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage technical responsibilities and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Municipal engineering, CTDOT project experience, project management, and client management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of transportation and municipal infrastructure projects from concept through completion.
• Develop innovative engineering designs for highways, roadways, bridges, multi-use trails, pedestrian facilities, and complete streets projects.
• Prepare and review engineering plans, technical reports, specifications, cost estimates, and design documentation.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining high engineering and quality standards.
• Collaborate with municipalities, transportation agencies, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Provide technical guidance throughout engineering design, permitting, and construction contract administration.
• Support traffic engineering, traffic planning, and transportation improvement initiatives.
• Build strong client relationships and help mentor junior engineers and project team members.
