Job summary

Parametrix in Washington is seeking a Transportation Engineer IV to join our DOT & Tribal Design team. You will lead and support the delivery of transportation projects, with emphasis on roadway design, grading, and interchanges, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with clients across WA.

The role offers hybrid work with offices in Puyallup/Silverdale/Seattle and opportunities to engage with public-sector and Tribal clients on complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 7+ years of related transportation engineering experience.
• Ability to independently manage technical assignments and coordinate work across disciplines.
• Experience with Washington State DOT (WSDOT), Tribal governments, or local agencies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or support the planning, design and delivery of complex transportation projects, focusing on local roadway and highway design, grading, intersections, and corridor improvements.
• Design stormwater management and drainage systems for transportation projects where applicable.
• Prepare and oversee development of PS&E packages, technical reports and design documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to address design challenges and incorporate feedback.
• Perform QA/QC review of engineering deliverables.
• Support project managers with scope, schedule, budget, proposals, and client communications.
• Mentor and support the technical and professional development of engineering staff.
