Job summary

Egis is seeking a senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design of electrical systems for transportation infrastructure, with emphasis on highway lighting and roadway electrical design. You will review construction documents, perform photometric studies, load calculations, and distribution designs while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

FDOT experience is preferred and a PE license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 12+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience with highway lighting, bridge lighting, and roadway electrical systems.
• FDOT design standards experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems for transportation infrastructure projects, focusing on highway and bridge lighting.
• Review, develop, and oversee construction documents (plans, specs, estimates, RFIs, and responses).
• Perform lighting analyses, photometric studies, load calculations, and distribution designs.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and quality control for junior staff.
• Coordinate with roadway, bridge, traffic, and structural engineers throughout project delivery.
• Support project managers with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination.
• Assist with business development, including proposals and technical presentations.
• Serve as a technical resource for transportation electrical engineering across the organization.
