Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) is seeking a Senior Project Manager for Transportation Design in Charlotte or Raleigh, NC. You will lead complex highway projects for federal, state, and local clients, overseeing staff and coordinating with clients and regulators.

The role requires deep knowledge of highway design, project management, and North Carolina DOT processes. You will guide strategy for expansion, monitor financial performance, and mentor a multidisciplinary team in a collaborative,

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in civil engineering/transportation planning (or equiv).
• MS degree preferred for advanced practice.
• NC PE license required; NC market experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Senior Project Manager for federal, state, and local clients.
• Develop and manage client relationships.
• Manage staff and provide technical and professional development.
• Assist with strategy for expansion of transportation services in North Carolina.
• Monitor project financial performance.
• Lead meetings with clients, agencies, and stakeholders on traffic analysis and design/permitting issues.
• Deliver transportation design projects from feasibility to PS&E packages at letting.
• Develop new opportunities and manage proposals.
