Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Transportation Engineer/Designer to join our Transportation Systems team. You will lead traffic engineering projects, coordinate with municipal and state clients, and contribute to mobility and safety improvements.

The role emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and delivering context-driven transportation solutions across public and private sectors. A BS in civil engineering and 3+ years of experience are required; EIT/PE preferred.

Qualifications

Background in traffic engineering and project management.
BS in Civil Engineering; licensure preferred.
3+ years of professional transportation engineering and/or planning experience.
Engineer in Training certification preferred.
North Carolina Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as Task Manager or Project Manager on traffic engineering and planning projects.
Prepare and/or lead traffic impact and safety studies.
Complete traffic operational improvement studies for localized intersections and corridors.
Provide analyses of traffic safety issues and crash reduction measures.
Collaborate with a team to develop mobility solutions using Complete Street concepts.
Perform field work for signals, road safety audits, curve safety, and other assignments.
Prepare reports and present findings to agencies and clients.
Develop analyses aligned with NCDOT traffic operations and safety policies.
